Well-Paying Jobs for Which You Need Little Education

Would you turn back time if you could and choose a different career?

The problem is that most of us don’t have the time or the energy to go back to school to get a different degree that would allow us to have access to a more exciting and better-paying job.

But did you know that there are some well-paying jobs out there for which no particular degree is needed?

Here are 5 examples of jobs that have an average annual salary of 50k, requiring only a minimal amount of post-secondary education:

Transit Driver

Transit drivers include those who drive buses, subways, and streetcars, among other things.

Although every transit company has their specific requirements, the basic qualifications are usually merely a high school diploma, courses to get a specific driving license, and a bit of additional on the job training.

Truck Driver

Though each province has its regulations, in general, to become a truck driver, you need to take specialized driving lessons. You must also pass road tests and additional tests that are particular to truck driving. Additionally, you will likely need to have some in-house training depending on the company for which you will be working.

Fire Fighter

Aside from having a high school diploma, to become a firefighter you must have good eyesight, and you need to be in excellent physical condition. If you have those 3 things, then the next step is to sign up for firefighting training. Note that the extent of the courses and training needed varies from one province to another.

Real Estate Agent

To work as a real estate agent, you need to follow a real estate training course after which you will be required to obtain a license. Even though this course can take several months, it has the advantage of allowing you to become qualified without having to quit your current job, since it can be completed from home.

Web Developer

Many web developers who now have lucrative developing jobs are self-taught.

To become a web developer, you first need to learn how to create web sites and how to use coding. There are many free resources on the internet to help you gain much of the basic knowledge you need in this area.

If you are tech-savvy and are more of an independent thinker, then a web developing career may be for you.
